Our Church services are done much different than what many might be accustomed too. It is important to adapt our principles to your cultural without losing our message. Each congregation reserves the right to adapt and change some things in their personal congregation. However, here is a list of some things we cannot allow inside our Churches.
*Pastors will NOT receive a special seat in the congregation during, before, or after services. (James 2:3). Instead they should humble themselves, assist people to their chairs, and then take the last seat available if any seat is available. (Luke 14:8)
*Various “special” Church Groups. Some congregations put a special focus on their “special groups” as if this were some type of school for Children and a popularity contest. They wear their special uniforms, sing at special times during the Church, etc. That will not be permitted. Groups are important and will be permitted. However they will not receive special treatment, be giving special opportunities during the Church services, etc. At “Healing Word Church” we are a family and no member is treated more special than the others.
*Pastors, Ministers, and Church members CAN wear special clothes but it CANNOT be required of them.
SAMPLE CHURCH TEMPLATE (can be adapted and altered)
*Welcoming Message/Greeting (done by the senior pastor)
*Invitation Prayer (Pray to God to be welcome in the place)
*Worship (Can be a band, or individual. However the main focus needs to be worshiping God. NO having various groups and many starting and stopping. This time is a time of worship and focusing on our God not displaying musical groups to entertain the congregation.)
*Gratitude Prayer (That God for His presence)
*Church announcements (Use this time to inform the Church of important news)
*SHORT Message about Tithes and Offerings
*Tithes and Offerings (can have a musical group or individual sing a song or two)
*Main Message (Use this time to focus on the Gospel of Jesus)
*Invitation Call (Nothing for drama or entertainment but a summary of the message and help people respond to the Gospel)
*Gratitude Worship (Use this time to enter into the presence of God again after hearing His message)
*Final Prayer and closing statements
Normally this template requires two hours of time. We suggest 1 hour of preaching the Gospel, 40 minutes of music/worship, and an average 15 minutes of worth of the other mentioned items. Obviously this template can be adapted to fit each culture. However remember the things that are not allowed.
